Parque Nacional do Iguaçu - in english!

Hello!
After having posted about Ametista do Sul - in english!, now it's time for me to talk about the Iguazu Falls (Cataratas do Iguaçu), go ahead:

Parque Nacional do Iguaçu - World Natural Heritage

Welcome:
Iguassu National Park
Created in 1939 by the Decree n. 1035, the Iguassu National Park is home for the largest remmant of the Atlantic forest (semi-decidous) in Brazil. The  park protects a rich biodiversity consisting of representative species of the Brazilian fauna and flora, some of which are endangered, such as the jaguar (Panthera onca), puma (Puma concolor), broad-snouted caiman (latirostris Caiman), Cinaceous-breasted amazon (Amozona vinacea), harpy eagle (Harpy harpyja), peroba-rosa (Aspidosperma polyneutron), articum (Rollinia salicifolia), Araucaria (Aracarua augustifolia) and many other species still unkown to science.

Such significant ecosystem and biological diversity coupled with the natural landscape of rare scenic beauty of the Falls made the Iguassu National Park the first conservation area in Brazil to be nominated as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. It shares with the Iguazu National Park in Argentina the most important biological continuum in the south-center of South America, with over 600,00 hectares of protected area and 400,000 of still primary forest. Thus, Brazilians and Argentines are jointly responsible for the preservation of this important world heritage.
